Traffic Control Flagger - Part-time

We are seeking part-time temporary Traffic Control Flaggers to join our client's team for approimately 2 weeks. This role is essential for ensuring safety and efficient traffic management around active construction sites and college campus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely through work zones, adhering strictly to safety protocols and traffic control regulations.

Note: Must be available to begin assignment on Tuesday, August 18, 2026

Pay Rate: $16.00 hourly

Shift 1

Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM 2:00 PM, Friday, 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Shift 2

Monday - Thursday, 2:00 PM 7:00 PM, Friday, No work day

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate traffic control devices such as signs, cones, barriers, and flagging equipment to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely around construction zones.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, pedestrians, and team members using standardized hand signals and radio communication.
• Monitor work zones continuously to ensure compliance with safety standards and adjust traffic flow as needed.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and removal of temporary traffic control infrastructure.
• Collaborate with heavy equipment operators such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks to facilitate smooth operations.
• Support other construction activities including paving, utility locating, welding, or heavy machinery operation when required.
• Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations for safety and operational compliance.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on site.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high levels of alertness and professionalism.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Prior experience in traffic control for work zones or construction site supervision preferred.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, front loader truck handling, dump truck driving, and power tools usage.
• Familiarity with construction projects and highway maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols including FMCSA regulations applicable to commercial truck driving.
• Construction site experience with emphasis on road construction or utility work highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and public interactions.
• Basic proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to traffic control setup.
