Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Moroccan Arabic cultural training consultant to design and facilitate a practical cultural awareness program for U.S.-based employees and leaders supporting an automotive project involving Moroccan colleagues, partners, customers, or operations.

The consultant will help participants understand Moroccan workplace culture, communication styles, professional etiquette, relationship-building practices, and decision-making norms. The training should provide employees with actionable tools for collaborating effectively across U.S. and Moroccan cultural contexts.

The ideal consultant will have native or near-native knowledge of Moroccan Arabic, also known as Darija, strong familiarity with Moroccan business culture, and demonstrated experience delivering corporate cross-cultural training. Experience working with automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or multinational organizations is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a needs assessment to understand the project, participant roles, business objectives, and anticipated cross-cultural challenges.

  • Design a customized cultural training program for U.S.-based employees and leadership.

  • Facilitate engaging virtual and/or onsite training sessions in Michigan.

  • Explain key aspects of Moroccan culture that influence professional relationships and workplace interactions.

  • Provide guidance on working effectively with Moroccan colleagues, suppliers, customers, and business partners.

  • Address differences between U.S. and Moroccan approaches to:

    • Communication and feedback

    • Leadership and hierarchy

    • Decision-making and problem-solving

    • Relationship and trust building

    • Meetings and professional etiquette

    • Time, deadlines, and project expectations

    • Conflict resolution and sensitive conversations

    • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Introduce relevant Moroccan Arabic terms, greetings, expressions, and pronunciation that participants may encounter in professional settings.

  • Use automotive- or manufacturing-related scenarios, case studies, and role-playing exercises where appropriate.

  • Help participants recognize and avoid common cultural misunderstandings, stereotypes, and communication barriers.

  • Develop practical reference materials, such as participant guides, cultural tips, terminology sheets, or post-training resources.

  • Adapt the content and facilitation style for different audiences, including employees, technical teams, managers, and executive leadership.

  • Participate in planning and debrief meetings with the project team.

  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback and make reasonable revisions to the training materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in Moroccan Arabic/Darija.

  • Professional fluency in English.

  • Strong knowledge of Moroccan and American culture, workplace practices, and business etiquette.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and facilitating cultural competency, intercultural communication, global mobility, or international business training.

  • Experience presenting to professional audiences in the United States or other multinational environments.

  • Ability to communicate cultural differences accurately, respectfully, and without reinforcing stereotypes.

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and audience-engagement skills.

  • Ability to translate cultural concepts into practical workplace recommendations.

  • Experience developing customized training materials and participant resources.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with project stakeholders.

  • Availability to deliver training virtually and/or onsite in Michigan, depending on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive, manufacturing, engineering, mobility, supply-chain, or industrial sectors.

  • Experience training executive leaders and people managers.

  • Professional experience in both Morocco and the United States.

  • Academic or professional background in intercultural communication, organizational development, adult learning, linguistics, international business, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications in cultural intelligence, intercultural training, coaching, or learning and development.

  • Familiarity with technical, operational, or supplier-facing automotive environments.

  • Experience facilitating interactive workshops using scenarios, case studies, simulations, and role-playing exercises.

The final scope, training length, number of participants, delivery format, schedule, and compensation will be determined based on project requirements and the selected consultant’s proposed approach.

This opportunity may involve one or more training sessions and could lead to additional consulting, coaching, or cultural support assignments as the automotive project progresses.
