LSNF is excited to announce an opportunity for a current attorney to take on a leadership role in advancing staff training, professional development, and organizational learning. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the quality of legal services provided by LSNF by helping ensure staff have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to effectively serve clients and achieve positive outcomes.

This is a unique career development opportunity for an experienced attorney looking to take on a more strategic and programmatic role within LSNF. The selected candidate will lead the planning and development of LSNF’s training and professional development program while continuing to provide direct legal services through a reduced caseload. Working closely with leadership and staff across the organization, the Training and Professional Development Attorney will identify training needs, develop learning opportunities, support staff mentorship and professional growth, and help ensure staff are equipped to meet legal, professional, and compliance requirements. In this role, you will:

• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of LSNF’s training and professional development program, including an annual training plan
• Assess training and professional development needs across attorney and non-attorney staff and work with supervisors and leadership to support individualized development opportunities
• Develop and deliver training content, tools, and resources that strengthen legal knowledge, professional skills, collaboration, and organizational effectiveness
• Provide mentorship and professional development support to staff, including opportunities for co-counsel, knowledge sharing, and skill building
• Maintain a reduced caseload and provide high-quality legal services through client advice, representation, litigation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy
• Support community education and outreach initiatives, including Know Your Rights presentations, while helping staff develop effective presentation and community engagement skills
• Support training related to LegalServer, grant requirements, funding restrictions, organizational policies, and other legal and regulatory compliance requirements
• Help identify changes in the law and emerging areas of practice that may require additional staff training or professional development
• Develop tools and opportunities to capture and share legal knowledge, best practices, and effective collaboration across the organization
• Build relationships with community organizations, private bar partners, and other professional networks to enhance client services and training opportunities
• Serve as a member of the management team and provide leadership and supervision to assigned staff

Minimum Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor Degree
• Minimum of five (5) years admission to Florida Bar or to practice in another jurisdiction and qualified to practice under out-of-state practice rule preferred. Experience or education in adult education may replace admission minimum, if the candidate is admitted to practice in Florida.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in adult education and/or curriculum development in professional settings. This requirement can be met by either academic programming or workplace experience.
