Location: 50 Water Street New York, NY 10041

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 

• 12 hours shifts, Monday- Sunday, rotating schedule

• Shifts: 7:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m. (1900 - 0700) or 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. (0700-1900)

• Weekend availability is required

About the NYC H+H Transfer Access and Capacity Center: 

The NYC H+H Transfer Access and Capacity Center (TACC) works 24 hours a day, to coordinate patients movement into and around the NYC Health and Hospitals System. TACC dispatchers work with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to  ensure patients are safely and efficiently transfer between facilities to obtain the care or services for their healthcare needs.

These services include:

• Transferring patients for immediate life-saving care for strokes, STEMIs, and trauma.
• Coordinating transfers for patient requiring a higher level of care.
• Ensuring seamless transitions for patients in need of specialty services.

Responsibilities:

• Call Management: Handle high-volume intake calls, including facilitating physician to physician communication and logistics related to patient transfers.
• Resource Coordination: including scheduling transport, documenting transfer activity, facilitating communication for transfers and completing ADT functions in Epic.
• Customer Service: Provide courteous, friendly service to medical facilities, the public, and fellow EMS staff.
• Documentation: Properly documents in transfer center software, computer aided dispatch (CAD) software and other systems as appropriate.
• Operational Awareness: Maintains operational awareness over all active transfers and transports; assisting other coordinators as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2years of transportation dispatch experience (EMS dispatch preferred)

• Emergency Medical Technician- EMT experience

• Strong geographical knowledge of service areas

• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations

• Proficiency in typing (40-45 WPM) and data entry experience

• Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
