CLOSE DATE: 07/31/2026

$18.05 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa Transit Center. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may include evenings, Saturdays, and holidays. Performs entry-level office and clerical work in receiving, recording, screening, and dispatching messages via radio and telephone. Work involves maintaining contact with drivers through a radio dispatch system.

REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of clerical experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Radio dispatching experience and knowledge of local geography is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must fill out and sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character and must be able to successfully complete a criminal and personal background investigation conducted by Brevard County and/or another agency. The work involves sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer screen and requires fine motor skills, good eyesight, hearing, and speaking with the ability to communicate clearly when using the telephone and radio. This position is safety sensitive as defined by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
