    Job Description

Interlochen Transit Drivers provide safe, reliable, and professional transportation for students, employees, guest artists, visitors, and other members of the Interlochen community. This is more than a traditional driving position, with assignments ranging from student appointments and airport transfers to supporting concerts and special events. Our Transit team operates a variety of vehicles, including cars, vans, SUVs, and buses, and we are seeking both CDL and non-CDL drivers to support the diverse transportation needs of our campus.

We are primarily seeking full-time drivers but are also open to candidates interested in regular part-time work. Drivers work scheduled shifts supporting Interlochen's year-round operations, with flexibility to accommodate early mornings, evenings, weekends, and special events. No two days are quite the same, making this an opportunity to play an important role in both the daily life of campus and some of Interlochen's most memorable events.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    * Safely transport students, employees, guest artists, VIPs, and visitors in cars, vans, SUVs, and buses as assigned.
    * Provide transportation for student appointments, activities, airport transfers, and other approved trips.
    * Transport guest artists and performers between airports, hotels, campus, and other destinations with professionalism and discretion.
    * Serve as a concert runner, providing time-sensitive transportation and logistical support for performances and special events.
    * Assist passengers with luggage, belongings, and other transportation needs.
    * Conduct routine vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance issues or safety concerns.
    * Communicate effectively with team members and campus departments regarding schedules, delays, changing assignments, and transportation needs.
    * Maintain clean, safe, and professional vehicles.
    * Support major campus events and periods of increased transportation activity.
    * Demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing a positive experience for all passengers.
    * Perform other related duties as assigned.
