Preferred Certifications Georgia: ART, EDBT, Concrete Technician I & II, Work Zone Traffic Control, ACI Field Testing Technician South Carolina: Concrete Technician, Asphalt Roadway Technician, Earthwork & Base Technician, Foundations Certification, Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification * ICE provides training and support to help inspectors obtain certifications and advance their careers. * Work Environment This position requires regular field work on active construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Night and weekend work may be required based on project schedules. Safety Requirement For positions involving field work, completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs. Physical Demands The role involves moderate physical activity such as walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders. Employees may occasionally lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds. It is essential for employees to navigate construction sites skillfully and conduct thorough inspections of materials and structures. Employees must have the ability to visually discern and differentiate details and colors of objects, and proficiency in recognizing sound, tone, and pitch. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The role demands adaptability to interruptions and changes in workflow, as well as the capacity to sit for extended periods. Employees must be capable of working in varied environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy settings, and be able to stand and walk during site visits. Additionally, working on construction projects may involve night work and weekend work depending on the project scope, and may include working in conditions with active traffic. Expected Hours of Work The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work schedule will vary according to the project schedule - night work and weekend work are required as the schedule demands.
