We are seeking a Transportation Electrical Engineer for an innovative rail engineering solutions provider and systems integrator.
This role is critical to the design, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems that ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation operations. The engineer will combine technical expertise with regulatory knowledge, project management skills, and a strong focus on system safety and reliability.
The ideal candidate is a Boston-based professional with 4 6 years of electrical engineering experience in the transportation, rail, or industrial sectors, and a proven background in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Work from limited information, instructions, schematics, sketches, diagrams, or layouts, requiring interpretation and problem-solving.
Create and interpret detailed electrical specifications and schematics.
Apply knowledge of core electrical concepts including resistance, voltage, and current.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues while promoting quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment, with limited supervision.
Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and multimeters to test and validate systems.
Work with external PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers.
Design custom cables for production and occasionally assemble one-offs for development and testing.
(Optional) Leverage familiarity with automated testing to improve efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
4 6 years of electrical engineering experience within transportation, rail, or industrial sectors.
Strong background designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems for large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., power distribution, signaling, train control, public transit systems).
Familiarity with systems integration involving mechanical, software, and electrical disciplines.
Hands-on experience with test equipment and PCB/contract manufacturing workflows.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
