Transportation/Logistics Admin Support

Summary:

• Shift: 2nd (02:00 PM - 10:00 PM [Lunch: 06:00 PM - 06:30 PM])

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for inventory management and inventory control metrics in a 24/7 shop environment.
• Pull material from warehouse for shop use ensuring correct issuance to locomotives with all necessary information.
• Manage stockouts weekly, including obtaining updated estimated times of arrival for parts.
• Perform daily cycle counts to find and correct inconsistencies in inventory.
• Forecast material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives efficiently.
• Perform quality control processes on inbound and outbound shipments.
• Arrange LTL and Expedite shipments using the Ryder portal, ensuring correct paperwork and BOLs.
• Use multiple software programs to order, receive, ship, and track material, including Hazmat material.
• Read mechanical drawings to determine needed material.
• Operate forklifts, including daily shift inspections.
• Compile reports on various inventory metrics.
• Process sales of material.
• Retrieve repair cycle assets from shop floor and process them in Oracle.
• Restock warehouse and shop floor material.
• Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the warehouse.
• Process warranty claims on any removed core that is warranty eligible.
• Perform daily counts of large commodity assets, verifying serial numbers and sizes.
• Respond to requests from Circle of Service shops for additional material.
• Wear proper safety equipment at all times.
• Record materials transactions via appropriate system or computer program.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and relocate orders as needed.
• Assist/lead with the coordination of physical inventory counting.
• All other job duties as assigned and required.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or at least 2 years of recent and relevant work history.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Previous experience in a logistics or shipping/receiving environment.
• Experience operating forklifts and other shop equipment safely.
• High level of attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment.
• Willingness and ability to work various shifts and maintain a flexible schedule.
• Reliable and predictable attendance.
• High level of dependability, great attitude, and ability to work well in a team.
