This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Position Summary

Provides oversight, support, and monitoring of Trauma Registry Professionals, including workload management, credentialing, education, competency validation, and onboarding in accordance with Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), and American College of Surgeons (ACS) requirements. Oversees trauma registry reporting for internal and external stakeholders, serves as the primary point of contact for trauma registry and research data inquiries, and integrates trauma data into performance improvement activities to identify opportunities, drive meaningful outcomes, and support regulatory compliance. This position supports trauma program registry and process improvement operations across UCHealth Community Division hospitals, including Longs Peak Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital, and Broomfield Hospital.

This position is primarily based at Highlands Ranch Hospital and provides support to UCHealth Community Division hospitals, including Longs Peak Hospital and Broomfield Hospital. Regular travel between locations is required to support trauma registry operations, trauma performance improvement activities, regulatory compliance, and trauma program initiatives.

Summary:

In collaboration with the medical director and organizational leaders will coordinate trauma care and systems and oversee the regulatory compliance and performance of the program as aligned with the institution''s goals.

Responsibilities:

Assists with developing departmental budget, goals and standards which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the service line and organization.

Maintains knowledge of all regulatory requirements and aligns the program for compliance based on institutional objectives that includes all related components in the service line continuum.

Maintains a quality program that effectively improves the performance of physicians, staff, processes, and systems related to trauma care that is aligned with national standards. Participates on and leads multidisciplinary teams.

Manages staff including performance, development, satisfaction, and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ADN with BSN in progress.

Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Preferred: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).

Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant experience in acute care. Preferred: Leadership experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Three years of trauma registry experience and/or trauma program experience.

  • Active participation in system, state, regional, and national professional organizations.

  • CSTR or CAISS certification within one year.

  • AIS, ATS, and ICD-10 training/certification within one year.
