Trauma Surgeon

• Participate in a broad clinical practice encompassing trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, surgical critical care, and elective general surgery.
• Care for a high-acuity, diverse patient population with substantial exposure to penetrating and blunt trauma.
• Work within a multidisciplinary environment supported by on-site neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology, and other surgical subspecialties.
• Teach and mentor general surgery residents, surgical critical care fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
• Participate in clinical research, scholarly activities, and trauma quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of the trauma program, including its transition toward ACS Level I verification.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical management of traumatic injuries, emergency general surgical conditions, and critically ill surgical patients while working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care.

Reporting to the Division Chief and Chairman of Surgery, the selected physician will become an integral member of a collaborative surgical team dedicated to providing timely, compassionate, and high-quality care.

St. Joseph's University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
