Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) registered nurse (RN) position is based in Rochester, Minnesota. This role involves coordinating nursing care, providing direct patient care, and supporting patient and family education within a cardiac intensive care environment. The RN will function across the continuum of care, practicing within established standards and leading quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, including day/night rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730) and straight nights (1900-0730), with every 3rd weekend. The assignment durations are for 13 weeks, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license applicable to the state of Minnesota; minimum education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). At least 6 months of recent travel nursing experience is required; 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience, preferably in a cardiovascular ICU. Cardiac monitoring/telemetry skills and the ability to read strips are essential. Orientation ECG exam must be passed to continue.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventricular assist devices (VAD), Impella, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), and balloon pumps. Additional certifications such as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) are preferred.
- Additional Information: The role requires floating as needed and participation in ECG exams during orientation. Covid-19 vaccination documentation may be required.
