Job Summary:
The Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit (Peds CV ICU) registered nurse (RN) position is based in Rochester, Minnesota. This role involves coordinating nursing care for pediatric patients post-cardiac surgery, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. The RN will support professional nursing practice across various settings and within the continuum of care, functioning within the applicable clinical standards and guidelines.
Job Details:
- Position: Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit RN
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week, with a day/night rotation (0700-1930 and 1900-0730), every 3rd weekend. Floating to other areas within the facility, including NICU and general pediatric care, may be required.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum education includes being a student or graduate of an accredited nursing program recognized by ACEN or CCNE. At least one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting within the last five years is required, with two years of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery ICU experience strongly preferred. Valid RN license by applicable state requirements is necessary. Certification requirements include BLS, ACLS, and PALS, with certification validity extending at least 3 months beyond the start date. Experience in pediatric cardiac surgery intensive care, cardiac monitoring, central line management, arterial line management, pacemaker management, and heart transplant experience is essential.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with ECMO and participating in quality improvement efforts.
- Additional Information: The role involves highly specialized pediatric cardiac postoperative management, with a focus on cardiac monitoring, management of invasive lines, and supporting complex patient needs. The assignment begins on 08/24/2026, with a 13-week duration. Fluttering between different pediatric care areas is expected as needed.
