Job Summary:
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Nights Towson, MD. This role involves providing specialized care for postoperative cardiac surgery patients in a highly skilled ICU setting. The position requires immediate open heart postoperative experience, with a focus on managing complex cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and structural heart procedures. The RN will work nights, with a schedule that includes on-call responsibilities and floating within scope to support unit needs.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 Night shifts, 19:00-07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: MD RN license or Compact license, BLS, CPI, and ACLS certifications. Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of ICU experience, including direct care of open heart postoperative patients immediately post-op.
• Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS, OCN, PALS, and trauma level experience are preferred.
• Float: Float to Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) may be required as needed.
• Additional Information:
  • Immediate open heart post-operative experience is a strict requirement (HARD STOP).
  • Typical patient population includes post-op cardiac surgery, structural heart procedures, and critical cases such as cardiogenic shock and STEMI/NSTEMI.
  • Must have experience with hemodynamic monitoring, inotropic support, ECMO, CRRT, and management of complex cardiac devices.
  • Evening orientation of 24 hours is provided.
  • Complies with local rules: candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • Rotation includes every third weekend and holiday work as scheduled.
  • Certification in CPI is mandatory, with online options accepted.
