Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring a CA RN license and prior acute care case management experience.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between like units required based on facility need
• Uses Epic charting system
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum of 2 years acute hospital Case Management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with manager approval
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS guidelines, DRG, HIPAA, and The Joint Commission standards
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, and prior authorization management
• May float between sister facilities near the contracted site based on need
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers may be accepted with clinical manager approval
