Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an active MA RN license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

  • Work in the Cath Lab/EP department of a teaching hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 7:00am-5:30pm
  • Uses Epic for charting (preferred experience)
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations - must be able to work all 7 days as scheduled
  • Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Performs electrophysiology procedures including cardiac ablation, mapping, and AICD/pacemaker insertion
  • Works in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, Hybrid OR, and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab settings

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand to be considered
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant Cath Lab/EP experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation monitoring required
  • Experience with vascular closure systems, angioplasty, and cardiac cath lab procedures such as PCI and diagnostic catheterizations required
  • Knowledge of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications required
  • Two references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care during cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
  • Circulate procedures and monitor patients during interventional cardiac cases
  • Must complete a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only 1 attempt allowed; failure will result in cancellation from the assignment
  • Must also complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
  • Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual completion
  • Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Standard scrub and dress code expectations apply in this hospital environment
