Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an active MA license and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

  • Work in the Cath Lab/Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a hospital setting
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Support EP procedures including cardiac ablation, mapping, and AICD/pacemaker insertion
  • Circulate procedures in diagnostic and interventional cath labs, hybrid OR, and special procedures areas
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM or 7:30 AM-6:00 PM)
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days as scheduled

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required in hand
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab/EP nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in 12-lead EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience with vascular closure systems, ACT monitoring, and cardioversion
  • Knowledge of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in cardiac cath lab and EP lab settings, including monitoring, medication administration, and procedural support
  • Must complete a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed
  • Must also complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam at orientation
  • Additional compliance modules required pre-start and during orientation, with annual completion thereafter
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted within a 200-mile radius at the same bill rate
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
  • Up to 14 days of requested time off may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
