Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and Epic proficiency at a Level I trauma center.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role within a Level I trauma center
• Covers neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, progressive critical care unit (PCCU), and ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Floating to a variety of ICUs is expected
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level I trauma center ICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience floating across multiple ICU settings highly desired
• One supervisor or manager reference within the past year required (charge nurse references not accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Must complete a competency test within 24 hours of consideration, with up to 2 attempts to pass
• Medical exemption only accepted for flu vaccine; personal or religious declinations not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• More than 3 call-outs in a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
