Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuroscience ICU/IMCU position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of neuro specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the 8AB Neuroscience ICU/IMCU unit of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
  • Position covers both ICU and stepdown (IMCU) levels of care, with floating between the two units expected
  • Neuroscience patient population involving complex, high-volume, and severe cases
  • Patient ratios: 1–2 patients in ICU; 3–4 patients in stepdown
  • Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 3 shifts per week
  • No on-call requirements
  • Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
  • Block scheduling is generally not approved

Requirements

  • Active GA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification required (certification card required for consideration)
  • Minimum 2 years of neuro ICU/IMCU experience required
  • Proven experience in high-pressure, high-volume, large-scale trauma environments required
  • Background managing critical and fast-paced situations with diverse and severe cases
  • Experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals is not sufficient for this role
  • Active nursing license verification (Nursys) required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to neuroscience patients across both ICU and stepdown levels of acuity
  • Strong neuro experience must be clearly reflected in work history
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
  • 13-week contract
