Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU Float Pool RN requiring a compact or Idaho RN license and prior travel nursing experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

• Float Pool position covering ICU units across Boise, Meridian, and Nampa facilities
• RNs float within their specialty only and will never float to a lower acuity unit
• May also be assigned as a 1:1 sitter at any facility when needed
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a, 48 hours per week
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No call or standby requirement
• No self-scheduling; travelers may float mid-shift to different units and facilities as needed
• Unit assignment communicated via app approximately 1 hour before shift start
• All facilities located about 20 minutes apart, right off the interstate, with safe parking available

Requirements

• Active RN license, Idaho or compact, required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Must be required to titrate drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry/monitor equipment
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Charge nurse present on all units and shifts
• Float pool leadership team includes assistant managers, an educator, and admin staff, with one assistant manager always on call 24/7
• Nurse aides/patient care techs present on units at ratios ranging from 1:8-10 depending on floor and day
• No specific scrub color required, as long as attire is clean and professional
• Orientation includes a meet and greet on day one followed by 3 shifts of inpatient orientation
• Facility maintains a 50-mile radius rule and does not accept local candidates
• Permanent employees must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
