Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring Epic EMR experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role within a Level I trauma center
• Floats across multiple ICU environments including neuro/trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, and progressive critical care unit (PCCU)
• Also cares for ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 48-hour weekly schedules accepted for interested candidates

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license required
• 2+ years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• Level I trauma center experience and float pool experience across varied ICUs highly desired
• Competency test required within 24 hours of consideration, completed via email
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU specialties as part of a float pool team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must be comfortable managing complex ICU patients in varied care settings
• Facility only accepts medical exemptions for flu vaccination, not personal or religious declinations
• No more than 3 call-outs allowed within a 13-week contract period, with required make-up shifts
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius from specific counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington) are not eligible
