Job Requirements

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of CVICU or cardiac ICU experience required; 2 years preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required
• Epic experience required
• Strong background in high-acuity cardiac ICU and thoracic critical care nursing
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Comfortable with the compliance and credentialing timeline for a travel RN assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional critical care nursing for adult CVICU patients with complex cardiovascular and thoracic conditions
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, ECMO, VAD implantation, and other advanced cardiac procedures
• Perform and support critical care interventions including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, Swan Ganz monitoring, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Care for patients requiring advanced support such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, temporary pacemakers, and chest tubes
• Assess and respond quickly to changes in patient condition, including unstable dysrhythmias, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, compassionate patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
• Float as needed to support units within the organization at an equivalent or lower acuity level
• Deliver patient-centered care while working nights, weekends, and rotating holidays as scheduled
