Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position supporting a new cardiac surgery program, requiring prior fresh cardiac surgery recovery experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in a 4-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 for immediate post-surgical patients and 1:2 for POD 1-3 patients
• Primary nursing staffing model
• Documentation via Meditech Expanse
• 13-week assignment with 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
• 36 hours per week with 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Floating required at the same patient ratio as the unit floated to
• Supports a new cardiac surgery program launch

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
• Current ACLS certification required, with no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start
• 1-2 years of recent experience caring for fresh cardiac surgery patients with direct primary recovery
• Advanced skills in balloon pump and Impella management required
• Hemosphere or Acumen monitoring system training required
• No gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct primary recovery care to fresh cardiac surgery patients in a high-acuity CVICU setting
• Navy blue scrubs required per dress code
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates will not be considered
