Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN with Impella and IABP expertise for a night shift assignment at an academic medical center.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) at an academic, research-based tertiary care medical center
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to ICU, TCU, and other care areas including ED for ICU/TCU admit holds
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience as a staff RN required
• Required skills include Impella and IABP management
• Epic charting system experience required
• CPI certification preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including post cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization/intervention cases
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Onsite parking available at no cost
• Must be willing to shave for a respirator fit test to ensure proper seal; CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided or permitted, with no exceptions for medical or religious accommodations
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with initial application; additional requests after confirmation are subject to manager discretion
• Clinicians may not work past 1 year as a traveler at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
