Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU RN with 2+ years of cardiac critical care experience and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiac ICU unit with 10 beds, functioning as part of the PICU
• Staffed by 6 RNs partnering with the PICU team, including 1 Charge RN per shift
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio for critical care (estimated, not guaranteed)
• Equipment used includes Phillips monitors, Med fusion and Baxter pumps, along with centrimag, prismax, and arctic sun for ECMO support
• Documents patient care using Meditech EMR
• 7A-7P shift schedule
• 4 shifts per 4-week schedule required for weekend coverage
• Serves the ECMO Center population, including medical neonates and congenital cardiac patients

Requirements

• Active RN license, CO or compact required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac critical care experience required
• Peritoneal dialysis, CRRT skills, and ECMO bedside experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide post-operative care for congenital cardiac patients, including inotropic and vasopressor continuous infusions, IVF and chest tube management, and post-sternotomy/open chest care
• Administer moderate sedation as part of patient care
• Work alongside board-certified pediatric/congenital heart intensivists and a multidisciplinary team
• Team averages 10 years of nursing experience with a strong culture of safety and high engagement
• Flexible, organized, and strong communication skills valued for this role
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
