Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in Thoracic/Vascular surgery, requiring prior travel experience and a TN or compact license.

Details

• Work in the OR Float Pool of a 1000+ bed Level 1 trauma hospital
• 56-bed OR serving inpatient and outpatient surgeries plus 5 procedural rooms
• Assigned to the Thoracic/Vascular surgical team with required proficiency in endovascular cases
• Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases
• 12-hour day shifts Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with variable scheduling based on unit needs
• No block schedule available
• May be required to take late stays based on unit demand, typically up to four times during a 13-week period
• Floating may occur between operating rooms but not between facility locations

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required on file at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years OR experience required
• Thoracic/Vascular surgical experience required
• Must have both circulating and scrubbing experience, with proficiency in endovascular cases
• Relevant certifications required and must be on file at time of consideration
• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Provide circulating and scrubbing support for thoracic/vascular surgical cases
• Patient population includes transplant, trauma, and neuro diagnoses
• Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays with limited time off approved during the contract
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate; radius rule of 75 miles applies for travel rate eligibility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
