Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) position requiring PALS certification and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a teaching hospital setting
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required
  • Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Skills in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
  • Experience with congenital heart disease/repair and post cardiac surgery care preferred
  • One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31-March 31)

Additional Information

  • Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery needs
  • Care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and airway care
  • Manage patients on ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced cardiovascular monitoring equipment
  • Administer emergency medications and manage IV vasopressors and continuous sedation as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
  • Candidates must not have been a permanent employee of the health system within the past 6 months
  • Maximum of 5-7 days requested time off (RTO) permitted with contract
