Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 5x8 Hours (approximately 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with one mid-week evening shift ending approximately 7:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' nutritional status and develop individualized medical nutrition therapy care plans for a complex pediatric inpatient and outpatient population, including patients with GI complications, short gut syndrome, post-trauma diagnoses, TPN dependence, and tube-feeding transitions
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers, including facilitation of group classes related to healthy eating and weight management
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with medical, nursing, and rehabilitation staff; coordinate care with the multi-disciplinary team to implement and evaluate nutrition care plans
• Support outpatient clinic programs including weight management, nutritional rehabilitation, feeding day programs, and individual nutrition appointments
• Accurately document assessments, recommendations, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record in accordance with facility policy
• Admit and assess new inpatient admissions, write follow-up notes, and attend required departmental meetings

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; completion of required coursework and an accredited Dietetic Internship required (candidates who passed the CDR exam prior to 1/1/2024 may qualify with a Bachelor's degree plus required coursework and Dietetic Internship)
• Successful passage of the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) examination
• Active Maryland Dietitian licensure required at time of submission
• Active registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric dietitian experience
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with complex pediatric diagnoses including TPN management, short gut syndrome, and tube-feeding-to-oral transition in infants
• Experience in outpatient pediatric nutrition programs, including weight management and nutritional rehabilitation clinics
• Comfort floating to an additional campus location as needed
