Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a Level IV Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 30-bed Emergency Department within a 400+ bed hospital in urban Austin, TX
• Specializes in advanced cardiac, ortho/spine, oncology, and maternal fetal care
• Level IV Trauma Center, JCAHO Primary Heart Attack Center (STEMI Receiving), and DNV Primary Stroke Center Plus
• Certified in ECMO, LVAD, advanced heart failure, Maternal Fetal Level IV, and Level III NICU
• Operates a 24/7 fast track with dedicated triage and charge RNs around the clock
• 4:1 patient ratio, with 2:1 or 1:1 depending on patient stability
• ED PCTs trained in phlebotomy and splinting staffed 24/7
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• No floating required outside of the ED

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications (must be AHA)
• At least 1 year of experience as an Emergency Department RN
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care in accordance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and quality improvement guidelines
• Assess patient conditions, document changes, and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team
• Execute physician and nursing orders while maintaining regulatory compliance and patient safety
• Assess discharge planning needs and collaborate with the healthcare team to support safe transitions and continuity of care
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
• COVID vaccination is not required
