Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. In this role, you will be an essential part of a dynamic healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule Details

• 12-hour Night Shifts: 1900-0730
• Three shifts per week
• Weekend Requirement: Up to three weekend nights (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) per pay period
• Holiday Requirement: Scheduled to work Christmas Eve or Day and New Year's Eve or Day based on unit needs

Orientation

Orientation includes:

• Two days at the primary orientation location
• Two days of Director of Nursing training
• One virtual Epic training session

Note: A total of 8 hours of non-billable orientation is required.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse, your primary duties will include:

• Providing direct patient care in a busy Emergency Department, handling a daily volume of approximately 120 patients.
• Managing a patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 as needed.
• Caring for inpatient boarders, ensuring excellent patient outcomes.
• Maintaining a positive attitude and adaptability to rapidly changing conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Emergency Department within the last 12 months is required; 2 years preferred.
• Licensure: Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in Kansas or a multi-state RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and Conscious Sedation Competency are required.
• Additional certification in TNCC is preferred.
• Must be self-motivated and team-oriented.

Additional Information

This position is located in a nicotine-free facility. The organization allows for the cancellation of one shift per two-week pay period without penalty. A minimum of 2-hour notice will be provided for cancellations.
