Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN requiring an MD or compact RN license, prior travel experience, and a high-volume ED background.

Details

• Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• 3x12 mid/night shift schedule (19:00-7:30)
• Cerner EMR required for charting
• Triage experience preferred
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating within skillset required

Requirements

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 2 years of recent ED experience required
• Must have worked within the last 8 months in an ED with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, and phlebotomy
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric ED population
• Respond to cardiac monitoring alerts and manage dysrhythmias as needed
• Flu vaccine required by the facility
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles to be considered local, with a different rate applying to local candidates
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application, limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no time off during the first two weeks of assignment
