Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.
Job Summary (List Format):
- Provides professional nursing care for a designated group of patients utilizing the nursing process, technology, and available resources.
- Performs all unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the scope of service, particularly in the Emergency Department (ED).
- Implements ED-specific nursing procedures and theories.
- Completes initial patient assessments upon admission and develops, implements, and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient documentation to ensure information integration for the healthcare team.
- Ensures patient and staff safety by adhering to safety standards, reporting/correcting safety hazards, and participating in incident reporting.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with staff, providers, patients, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing environment.
- Provides constructive feedback to peers to support professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Identifies own learning needs and actively seeks opportunities for further education and competency development.
- Fulfills all departmental competencies and requirements.
- Uses EPIC electronic health record system for charting.
- Participates in scheduled shifts, including days (11:00AM-11:30PM), required 2-week night rotations, and on-call duties as assigned.
- Holds an active Illinois RN license in good standing, with required BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association).
- Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience; trauma level 2 or higher experience preferred; TNCC certification highly preferred.
- Communicates fluently in English (speaking, reading, writing).
