Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an Illinois RN license and at least three years of relevant nursing experience

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00PM-7:30AM
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • No block scheduling permitted
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required on a rotation basis
  • 2 call shifts required per 6-week schedule period, with 13-hour call shifts and expectation to be onsite within one hour
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
  • Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and PALS (AHA)
  • Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
  • TNCC certification highly preferred

Additional Information

  • Serves as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, utilizing the nursing process to deliver care
  • Completes initial patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
  • Implements and modifies plans of care based on continuous patient assessment and evolving needs
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
  • Reports and corrects safety hazards to ensure patient and staff safety
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with staff, patients, and families to promote a healing environment
  • Provides constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
  • This is a high-risk department assignment within the Emergency Department
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 7 total days during the 13-week contract
