Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring trauma experience and an active AL or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center Emergency Department
• Treat all age groups in a high-volume ED that sees more than 60,000 patients per year
• Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients
• Uses Meditech EMR system
• Mid shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Required to work every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required for every holiday
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Requirements

• Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact, currently in hand (no temporary licenses accepted)
• NURSYS verification required
• Associate degree in nursing required
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS (or Red Cross equivalent), NIHSS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a large hospital setting
• Trauma experience required

• On-site skills test required in addition to online pre-test
