Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) position in Denver, CO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ED experience and active CO or compact RN license.
Details
- Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) setting in Denver, CO
- 11-bed unit staffed with 2 RNs per shift, 1 MD, 1 radiology tech, and 1 security guard — all 24/7
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Equipment includes GE monitors and Baxter pumps
- EMR: Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Willingness to float between ED departments is preferred
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, ENPC, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and TNCC
- CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care ED RN experience required
- Ability to work night shift required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Typical procedures include EKGs, IV placement, medication administration, conscious sedation, and wound care
- ER charge RN experience is preferred
- Ideal candidate is positive, flexible, and a strong team player
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; 2 years of clinical experience is required per HCA Far West regional standards for this facility
