Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of combined adult and pediatric ED experience, with proficiency managing high-acuity patients including STEMI and stroke cases.

Details

  • Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department — no separate peds area; pediatric patients are seen in all zones
  • High-acuity patient population including STEMI, stroke, sprains, sutures, and pediatric cases
  • Vasoactive drips including routine vasopressors, insulin, and sedation are administered
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1, with occasional stretch to 5:1 during peak census
  • Primary shift is 3p–3a (12 hours) with flexibility to also work 7p–7a
  • 36 hours per week
  • 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active VA or Compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
  • Experience with both adult and pediatric emergency patients required
  • Ability to work both 3p–3a and 7p–7a shifts required
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include managing a broad spectrum of ED cases from lower-acuity presentations to high-acuity critical patients
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • No holiday or on-call requirements for this position
