Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license, EPIC experience, and a minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based Emergency Department setting
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
  • Every other weekend shift required
  • Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
  • On-call responsibilities include 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, each 13 hours, with expectation to be onsite within one hour
  • No block scheduling available
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association) required
  • TNCC certification highly preferred
  • Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Serve as primary caregiver for a designated group of ED patients, applying the nursing process across the care continuum
  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
  • Implement and modify care plans based on ongoing patient assessment and evolving needs
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation to support continuity of care across the healthcare team
  • Uphold patient and staff safety standards, including reporting and correcting safety hazards
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families to support a healing environment
  • Provide peer feedback and engage in professional development activities
  • This is a high-risk department assignment
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Requested time off may not exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
  • Workers who have completed a prior assignment at this health system must have a 6-month break in service before returning
