Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Texas or a compact state
- At least 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience or related acute care nursing experience
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current AHA ACLS certification required
- Current AHA PALS certification required
- Current TNCC certification required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience in emergency care, trauma nursing, or clinical support in a fast-paced hospital environment preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care to Emergency Department patients
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop nursing care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments according to established hospital protocols
- Monitor patients for treatment response, side effects, and changes in condition
- Document patient history, symptoms, interventions, and care provided in the medical record
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe patient flow
- Follow Emergency Department competencies, standards, and organizational guidelines
