Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license and CPI Blue Card for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

• Emergency Department setting serving all patient age groups, combined adult/pediatric
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 1900-0730, Sunday-Saturday rotation
• Floating required
• Weekend coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Minimum 1 year ED experience within the past 2 years required for specialty consideration
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI Blue Card (Crisis Prevention Institute, in-hand, MAB or online not accepted), NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Two supervisor references required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, pediatric, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
• Skills include cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and emergency medication administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation is valued
• Triage and isolation precaution/PPE skills required
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
