Description

American Traveler is hiring an ED RN with a DC license and Level I Trauma Center experience for a night shift teaching hospital position.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center, teaching hospital emergency department setting
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:30 PM - 8:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) and holiday shift requirements
  • No floating between like units required, though candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Not open to block scheduling
  • Uses Cerner Soarian (1st generation) charting system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (DC required)
  • Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC
  • PALS certification preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with central line care and management
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
  • Experience with triage
  • 2 supervisor references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care within a high-acuity, Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
  • Perform triage, IV therapy, central line management, and cardiac monitoring duties
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to emergency situations
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Returning staff must have a break in service of at least 1 year before reapplying
