Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Emergency Room registered nurse for a Level 1 trauma unit in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, including critically ill and trauma patients, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Position: Emergency Room Nurse in a Level 1 Trauma department
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC or TNS
- Education and Experience: Valid Illinois nursing license, at least 2 years of recent ER nursing experience, with preference for those with prior travel assignment and SANE RN experience
- Patient Care: Care for all patient ages, from newborns to the elderly, including critically ill patients, trauma, strokes, and cardiac arrest cases
- Team Coverage: Minimum of three emergency physicians or mid-level providers at all times, specialized trauma team in trauma bay, support staff including nurse aides and respiratory therapists
- Responsibilities: Titrate various IV drips such as vasopressors, cardiac, antihypertensive medications, troubleshooting equipment including ventilators and monitors, interpretation of rhythms, and drawing labs
- Department Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-5, Center equipped with Phillips monitors, and radiology services available for imaging needs
- Floats and Additional Duties: Floats to other units are rare; nurses will primarily focus on emergency department responsibilities
- Uniform: Tasteful, solid-colored scrubs; no specific color requirement
- Start Date: 08/17/2026
