Job Summary:
The Emergency Room registered nurse position is located in a fast-paced, trauma Level II emergency department with 18 beds, situated in Wausau, Wisconsin. This contract role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a diverse environment, including stroke certification, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory services. The role involves rotating shifts and requires adaptability to operational needs.
Job Details:
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
- Shift: 12-hour rotating days and evenings (variable shifts)
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS; minimum 2 years of experience, trauma level II experience required. New graduates or those with less than 2 years and no trauma experience are not considered. Epic charting experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Schedule: 12-hour variable days and pm shifts, every other weekend and holiday; potential on call and callback duties with advance notice.
- Additional Information:
- May be required to float to other locations including Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley.
- In-house laboratory, pharmacy, and X-ray staff available; RN responsibilities include lab draws and nebulizer treatments.
- Scrub colors can be any color.
- During flu season, staff declining vaccination must wear masks at all times.
- The contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; travelers can be on call during these hours with callback pay if called back.
- The initial week of orientation does not guarantee GSA hours.
