Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Wausau, Wisconsin. This contract offers a 13-week opportunity in a busy trauma level II emergency department. The role involves day shifts with a focus on trauma, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, respiratory, and cardiac care, serving approximately 3-4 patients per nurse. The position requires resilience, independence, and the ability to manage change effectively.
Job Details:
- Location: Wausau, WI
- Schedule: 12-hour days, with shift times typically occurring between 0500-1700, 0900-2100, or 1000-2200, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, Associate Degree or Certificate, minimum of 2 years of ER trauma experience, trauma level II experience required, charting experience with EPIC, prior travel experience preferred or 2 years of trauma experience if no prior travel
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
- Float: May be required to float to other locations such as Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley; float rotation may be required
- Additional Information:
- May be asked in advance to participate in on call but rarely required; callback pay available if called back during low census hours
- Weekly hours are guaranteed except during holidays and unit closures; low census hours may include unbillable hours, with travelers possibly on call during these times
- During flu season, any traveler declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask constantly, per policy
- Scrub colors are flexible; unit includes various specialties such as stroke, cardiac, neuro, pediatric, and geriatrics
- The environment is fast-paced with an emphasis on strong work ethic, resilience, and independence
