Key Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervene appropriately and promptly, and participate in care planning for emergency room patients
• Triage patients, obtain patient history and vital signs, and assess both acute and non-acute patients
• Act independently to initiate immediate care in the absence of a physician in life-threatening situations
• Process physician and provider orders accurately, completely, and in a timely manner, including follow-up on medication changes and order clarifications
• Evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to facilitate improvements in patient care
• Provide physical and psychological comfort to patients and families, and deliver discharge and follow-up instructions

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN License (verified Active via LARA and/or Nursys)
• Active American Heart Association BLS Certification
• Active American Heart Association ACLS Certification
• Active American Heart Association PALS Certification
• Active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification highly preferred
• Experience working with Epic EMR
