Medlivo is seeking a travel nurse RN Float ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Cetennial, Colorado.
Minimum 2+ years recent RN Emergency Department (ED/ER) experience required / CERTIFICATIONS – ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, and TNCC Required / LICENSE – Active RN License Required / Schedule: Evenings/Nights (3:00 PM–3:00 AM), 12-hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, 13 weeks (every other weekend + holidays as needed) / Setting: Acute Care – Emergency Department Float Pool (Zone 1) / EMR: EPIC / Skills: Emergency nursing, triage, trauma care, stroke and STEMI patient management, tele interpretation, critical thinking, IV therapy, emergency medication administration, point-of-care testing, and strong adaptability required / Unit Details: Multi-facility ER Float Pool covering Trauma Level III and IV facilities; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4–5 based on acuity; 40–168 patients per day depending on facility / Common Patient Population: Abdominal pain, diabetes complications, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, hypertension, and general emergency presentations / Drips: Standard ER medication drips and emergency infusions / RT Equipment: Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen; RT available 24/7 for support / Charge Nurse: Present and may take patient assignments / Monitoring: No monitor techs; RN must independently read and interpret telemetry strips / Scheduling: Leadership-generated schedules; shifts released 4–6 weeks in advance; block scheduling may be available based on department needs / Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday / Call/Standby: None required / Floating: Mandatory throughout Zone 1 facilities including Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More Hospital / Orientation: 2–3 days department-specific orientation plus facility onboarding (must be in-state during orientation week) / Scrubs: Navy Blue / Additional: No home-base facility assignment; travelers may be assigned to a single facility for a week or receive Just-In-Time (JIT) assignments 1–2 hours before shift start. Must be comfortable working independently across multiple ED environments, caring for high-acuity patients, performing point-of-care testing, and adapting to varying workflows and patient volumes. / Radius Rule: Must reside 60+ miles from Colorado Springs city center; valid driver’s license required with submission. Traveler is responsible for housing that allows floating throughout the entire 60-mile zone.
