Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730–$1,820
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel RN contract
• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 11, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical Assignment: Approximately 4 patients per nurse
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Additional Expectations: Floating to like units within scope of practice may be required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New Mexico; a pending New Mexico or compact license may be considered if obtained before the start date
• At least 2 years of professional nursing experience, including Emergency Department, emergency care, or emergency holding experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated ability to care for patients with varying levels of acuity in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment
• Experience with a 4:1 patient assignment preferred
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, and in an on-site clinical setting

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Emergency Department
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor clinical conditions, and promptly communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate nursing documentation and electronic health records
• Manage peripheral and PICC lines, oxygen therapy, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, wound care, feeding tubes, and continuous bladder irrigation as indicated
• Support patients requiring blood product administration, insulin and heparin management, isolation precautions, and substance-withdrawal monitoring
• Recognize patient deterioration and participate in rapid response and code team interventions
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, rehabilitation, interpretation, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Float to comparable units within scope of practice when needed and contribute to a positive patient-care environment
