Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department treating an average of 40 patients per day, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5 based on acuity
• Manage a mixed patient population including abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN, with ER holds intermixed within the department
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips, as no dedicated monitor technician is available
• Perform Point of Care lab testing following facility training; administer standard ER medications and drips
• Collaborate with support staff including unit techs who assist with triage, floor support, and unit secretary duties, as well as RT available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• Float throughout the assigned zone as needed; travelers are expected to cover a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center and must obtain housing that makes this feasible

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry independently
• Must be available and present in-state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; driver's license must be submitted for verification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with STEMI, stroke, and trauma patient populations
• Experience with Point of Care lab testing in an emergency care environment
