Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join our dynamic team. The Emergency Room is equipped with 31 beds and caters to a diverse patient population, including critical care cases.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 2 years in ER/Trauma
• Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays
• Scrub Color: Navy
• Floating: Possible float between locations within the region

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency patients.
• Triaging and prioritizing patient care in fast-paced environments.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and mid-level providers.
• Perform a variety of medical procedures and interventions as needed.
• Assist in moderate conscious sedation competency testing.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC).
• Minimum of 2 years of emergency/trauma nursing experience required.
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple patient cases.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Patient Population

The Emergency Room serves a diverse range of patients, including:

• Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs)
• Gunshot Wounds (GSW)
• Cerebrovascular Accidents (Strokes)
• Myocardial Infarctions (Heart Attacks)
• High-risk Obstetric cases
• Psychiatric holds and transfers

Facilities & Equipment

• Utilizes GE Lifepacks for telemetry monitoring.
• Ventilators include Puritan Bennett 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP, and V60s.
• Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy services available 24/7.

Orientation

The orientation program includes floor-specific training for 2-3 days to ensure familiarity with procedures and protocols.
