Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel position requiring STEMI/Stroke facility experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in a general Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients of all ages
• Non-trauma Emergency Department within a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Special care populations include cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health
• Hospital specialties include cath lab, women's health, and stroke care
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with occasional 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM shifts as needed
• Up to every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• May float to any Cone Health campus as needed
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• STARR/Behavioral population certification preferred
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG testing required
• Preferred skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, central line care, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CVA and neuro-trauma care, and ortho trauma care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient populations including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and trauma cases
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates within this radius are not accepted
