Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NC or compact license and a minimum of 2 years ED experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and patient volume
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
• Required to work 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to any Cone Health campus may be required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, and TNCC
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Preferred experience as Charge RN and in a Level II Trauma setting
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs and administering IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
• Preferred experience with arterial line management, ICP monitoring, and neuro-trauma care including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries
• Experience with cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred experience with ortho trauma care

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acute and trauma presentations, including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and head injuries
• Preferred experience in Level I and Level II Trauma Center settings, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
